Parkdale Rovers F.C.

Kidderminster & District Saturday Premier League 2007-2008

Parkdale Player Profiles...

Dan Lacey–  The Cat Goal Keeper  An absolutely fantastic all-round goalie who commands his area and communicates well with his back line. Great hands, great feet, great reactions and great positional awareness.

Chris Fox - dubbed "Littlefox" by his Sunday team manager, this boy is another outstanding goalkeeper but, unlike Lacey, seems to prefer running around in an outfield position! Still working out where his best outfield position is though...has been known to appear at right back, left back, right wing , though for most of our games he has played up front as an apprentice striker.

Blaine O'Reilly - 'The Drill' continues to astound opposition players - and at times frustrate his own teammates! - with his mazy dribbles! A tough tackling full-back with pace to burn who just loves to get forward and take on defenders at every opportunity!

Parkdale's "Young Player of the Year 2005-2006

Ant Derrer - Quality centre-half or can play centre-midfield. Despite being out of the game for several years with a very serious knee injury, has worked hard to get back to full fitness and produced several solid performances at the heart of the defence. Unlucky to suffer the dreaded metatarsal break last year, but back in training again for pre-season and we're hoping he has an injury free run this year!

Andy Fox ("Foxy") - The older of the Fox siblings and although, like his brother, he has tried virtually every position from stiker to right or left full back, his best postion is without question at centre-half. Quick and powerful, Foxy is famed for his beefy two footed challenges and shoulder charge assaults on unwary opponents who unwittingly get in his way! A quality defender who sees to it that very little ever gets past him

Steve Westwood – Steve is super fit and enjoys a tackle or two! He settled well into the right (wing) back position initially before moving inside to centre-half and,  although still learning this position, he is undoubtedly one of the club's most improved players.

Managers' Player of the Year 2005-2006

Richard Merker – “Itchy” the dressing room joker! Great for morale and team spirit and a more than competent holding midfielder or combative centre-half. Fitter than I’ve ever seen him and full of running – loves a tackle and just doesn’t know when to give up! Has been missing of late due to his fireman training...hopefully back next year fitter and stronger than ever!

Dave Collett – Has a sweet left foot and has the pace to play left wing or left back. Still learning his trade but definitely a useful addition to the squad.

Mark Priest - has been with the club for several years and, despite signing for Dudley Hearts last year, 'Priesty' has confessed the error of his ways and returned to us for another season! A very competent and experienced left back who can also do a useful job at centre half when the need arises. Currently recovering from a serious knee injury which required surgery. Everyone at the club wishes him a full and speedy recovery!

Phil Woodhouse – Woody has served the club for many years as a centre-half and, until recently, as club treasurer. Appearances at centre-half were more limited in recent years but this year he has returned as 1st team manager.

Dave Marsh – Another of our long serving players. Marshy is also Vice Chairman and also made several appearances last season at the heart of the defence. Signed again with us this season as cover and happy to be used in cases of emergency.

Adrian Hingley - Adrian has proved a very capable and combative player who has the skill and versatility to play virtually anywhere across midfield or even in defence. Has a fantastic engine and a good football brain.

Dean Kavanagh - Former player who has re-signed for us again this season after some time away. A quality forward with two good feet and an eye for goal who can also play in central midfield when the need arises. Sadly missing the last two thirds of last season as his regiment was called up to go fight in Iraq. Back in UK again and raring to make up for last season's absence.

Nigel Mayes – has been with the club for many seasons and is a no nonsense tough tackling midfielder who can also drop into defence if required. This season Nigel will take on the role of player-manager for the Reserves team.

Michael Jewkes "Jewkesy" - another of the 'Rednal' young guns who desperately needed some Saturday match action to supplement his Sunday league football. A pacy winger with a neat touch, tidy passing and even an eye for the odd goal or two!

Sean Wright – Been with the club now for several years and is a very useful midfielder with one heck of a right foot shot! But for goodness sake don’t ask him about the goal he scored straight from the kick-off last season! Has missed a lot of action this season due to work committments but still a quality player when he is available

Parkdale Goal of the Season Winner 2005-2006.

Gavin Haynes – Long serving player whose availability has been limited over the last two years. Normally a good solid utility player who can play in defence or midfield who is hoping to be much more involved this season.

Dave Louden - Very versatile player who, in his 10 years at the club, has covered every single position including the odd stint in goal! A previous golden boot winner who is now playing in his best position up front. Has a fantastic first touch and is a natural finisher with either foot and great in the air.

Parkdale's Golden Boot Winner 2005-2006 & Runner-up Players' Player of the Year 2005-2006

Ed Uff  -  A quality player with a great first touch and a keen eye for goal or a killer pass. Can play up front, centre-midfield  or out on the wing and has already formed quite a promising partnership with fellow strike partner, Dave Louden, in the pre-season friendlies. Sadly his appearances this season may be more limited has he has decided to play Sunday football and go shopping with the missus on Saturdays!

Seyed Anane "Sid" - Top bloke and an absolutely amazing dribbler with a fantastic engine and work ethic. Put in some fantastic performances last season, especially from centre-midfield. Sadly appearances this season may be restricted due to his taking up employment in London (the 2nd city!). He is keen to commute up for some weekends but unable to make a regular committment.

Rian Russell - Parkdale's own "baby faced assassin" - still only a youngstar and straight from schoolboy football but nevertheless he has forced his way into the team . Rian has a neat left foot and a very tidy finish. Still learning his trade but definitely loads of potential and one to watch over the next few months.

Satnam Khera - Another relatively young player - also making the move up from schoolboy football - signed late this year who has loads of skill on the ball and loads of potential. Also still learning his trade but if he can reproduce half of what he can do in training on matchdays, he'll definitely be one to watch in the coming months.

Rhian O'Reilly – Been with the club for several years now. Began the season as a small pacy right winger, who despite his size is more than a match for many larger defenders and can deliver some quality crosses. A confidence player who, when on form, also possesses a keen eye for goal and a rifle of a right foot shot. Lately he has been asked to fill in at right back and may well have found his best position as he clearly enjoys getting stuck in!.

Nathan Pugh 'Tubz' - Another player who signed for us late on last season.  'Tubz' can play on the right wing from where he can deliver top quality crosses which are "right on the money" . Also still working towards full match fitness, but another useful addition to the squad as we look forward to the coming season.

Adam Woodhouse - A new signing this season. Woody can play in most outfield positions but specialises in the fullback position on either the left or right side. Reads the game well with a talent for taking the ball away from the opposition and has good passing ability and the vision to go with it

Craig Oldfield -  Another new signing this season. This midfield maestro has the lot, quick feet, heading ability, vision and passing ability as well as an eye for goal.

Robert Hill - Another youngster to the fold who despite having the ability to become a potential top class sweeper in defence is very strong and skilful in going forward as a midfielder. An excellent crosser of the ball.

Brett Hayden - A new player this season, Brett is one of the fittest players in the team, full of running, holds the ball up well and links well with the midfield. Once he has got a full understanding with the other forwards will no doubt be challenging for the top scorer slot.

Tom Russell - Another one of the new generation of Parkdale players. Tom gives 100% each match and is an all action player excelling at centre defence or central midfield. One of the best headers in the team, never intimidated and totally committed.

Alex Bicknell - Very high quality left sided player, very quick and skilfull with good vision and passing ability. Adapted very well to the Saturday Premier League and seems to get better with every match. Also deceptively good in the air.

James Dean - A useful utility player who is comfortable defending or going forward. Excellent dribbling ability and a player who can continue improving undoubtably to become a top player. Currently having a few health problems, the club wish him a very swift recovery and wish him well.

Luke Barratt - Luke is a giant of a player covering every inch of the pitch and using his height well in the air in his central midfield position and to good effect in both boxes. Not available on all occasions, it is hoped this may change in the future.

Jamie Sippitts - A young newcomer who has loads of potential for the future. Quick, skilfull with an eye for goal and totally fearless despite his young demenour and slight frame. We will be looking for good things from Jamie now and in the future.

David Whyte - Big Dave is the Club Captain  and the driving force in midfield. Guiding and working with some of the younger players he has the respect of everyone at the club. Very strong player who leads by example.
